Other browser storage technologies
Modern browsers offer other ways to keep small amounts of data on your device, and this policy covers them too:
- Local storage keeps data in your browser with no expiry date until it is cleared.
- Session storage keeps data only until you close the browser tab.
- Browser cache saves copies of images, video, style sheets and scripts so pages load faster on return visits.
How smalocks.it.com uses cookies
SmaLocks is built as a lightweight, static website. Our own pages do not set advertising cookies, analytics cookies, social media cookies or tracking pixels, and we do not load third-party scripts that would place them.
The only JavaScript on the Site controls the mobile menu, updates the year in the footer and respects your reduced-motion setting. It does not read or write cookies.

Cookies from our hosting provider
The company that hosts our server may, on its own infrastructure, set a strictly necessary cookie to protect the Site against attacks or to route traffic correctly. Such a cookie would not be used to identify you personally or to follow you across other websites, and the Site could not be delivered securely without it.
Browser caching of our media
To make the Site feel faster, your browser may keep a cached copy of our smart lock photos, the showcase video, the style sheet and the script file. This cached data stays on your device and is not a cookie. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser cache.
Clicking our email address
When you click our email address, your device opens its own email app. That step does not place a cookie from us. Any cookies or storage used by your email provider are governed by that provider's own policies.
Managing cookies in your browser
You stay in control of cookies and storage through your browser settings. In most browsers you can:
- see which cookies are stored and delete them one by one or all together;
- block third-party cookies, or block all cookies from specific websites;
- clear cookies, local storage and the cache automatically whenever you close the browser;
- browse in a private or incognito window, which discards cookies at the end of the session.
Look for these options under the Privacy, Security or Site Settings section of your browser's menu. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop some websites from loading correctly.
Do Not Track and privacy signals
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal. Because our Site does not track visitors for analytics or advertising, there is no tracking for these signals to switch off, and your experience of the Site stays the same.
